SNOW!!!

So... this is Texas weather for you... shorts and t-shirts on Saturday... snow on Thursday...





I got to leave work today at like 12:30 so that I could drive back from Dallas before the weather got too bad. My boss was so sweet to let me leave early! It was so pretty to see the snow falling and building up outside.

I enjoyed sitting on our couch, reading and journaling this afternoon. My soul needed some quite and peaceful rest today. I was struggling this afternoon and just during my weakest moments, a friend text me and said she was praying for me and asked how I was... I told her and she immediately started texting me scripture passages to encourage me and help me look to the Lord. It was SO encouraging and helped me refocus my attention. It's amazing how God brings people along at just the right time to encourage us! He is such a good God!

One of my favorite Bible passages she pointed me to is Psalm 62:5-8:

"For God alone, O my soul, wait in silence, for my hope is from Him. He only is my rock and my salvation, my fortress; I shall not be shaken. On God rests my salvation and my glory; my might rock, my refuge is God. Trust in Him at all times, O people; pour out your heart before Him; God is a refuge for us. Selah."

These verses really ministered to me, especially the part about pouring out my heart before God... for He is my refuge. How encouraging that is... to know that God is always quick to hear my pleas for help when I am weak and in need of grace (of course, I'm always in need of grace!!!).

I am so thankful for God placing godly friends in my life who point me to Christ and encourage me in my daily walk.

Wow...everyone got of early today except me because today is my day off! Murphy's Law. Even if I was working though, I couldn't go early....haha, "Ok patients, don't have your babies or anything because I'm leaving early since its snowing....night shift will be here at 6:30 if the weather is good." Yeah right. haha. But I'm sure it was nice to have a relaxing afternoon/evening. I cleaned out my frig, scrubbed my microwave, and worked on planning Jennifer's wedding! =)
