Day One - From Texas to New Mexico

Yesterday, Camile, Mrs. Sears and I left Weatherford about 12:30 and headed into New Mexico, where we stayed the night. On our way down we stopped at the Big Texan for dinner. This restaurant is known for their "steak eating" contest. If you can eat a 72 oz. steak, plus all the sides (one loaded baked potato, 3 fried shrimp, and a salad) in exactly one hour, you get the entire meal for free. However, most people can't do it. Here are some pictures:



Now, we could argue that all hotels in Texas look like this... :-)

Camile and I split a yummy chicken fried steak... it was SO good!!! And yes... we look tired... haha!!!

This brave guy took the challenge to eat the 72 oz. steak. When someone does this, they sit at their own table at the front of the room where everyone can see. People get up from their tables and go talk to the person while they're eating... it's quite amuzing! When we walked by, he had only about 23 minutes left to go and as you can tell... he probably wasn't going to make it. When we talked to him he seemed pretty tired of eating!!!

Wow...that is a big chicken friend steak! Good choice to split! :) And that challenge to eat all that food is CRAZY! I'd gain 4lbs at least if I put all that in my body at one time...haha.

Seriously!!! But the funny thing is, I understand that a number of girls have been able to do it!!! Crazy!!!
