Content at Home

This past weekend we went to see Kyle's family in Eastman, Georgia. We drove down on Friday and got in by suppertime. Then on Saturday we drove about an hour to go see his Granny in the nursing home. It was a special time to see her, talk with her, and pray with her. We are both so grateful for the legacy our grandparents are leaving us. Isn't it so beautiful to watch our grandparents stay faithful in the Lord, even to the end of their lives?

After returning from the nursing home (and I laid down to rest for a few minutes) we drove about 30 minutes to a Japanese Steak house for dinner. It was so incredibly yummy!

On Sunday we enjoyed seeing friends at church and chatting with people there. This was only my 4th time to attend Kyle's church but they welcomed me like family! I personally love when we "go home" to Eastman because I feel like I have friends there too! It means so much to be welcomed in by everyone! Thanks ya'll!


Here we are in our first Easter picture as a married couple! Married life is wonderful and I love celebrating holidays with my incredible husband!

Hey everyone!!! It feels so good to be home, sleeping in my own bed, enjoying the Texas heat... oh yeah! Well, since I slacked off on blogging the last few days, I thought I would give a brief update. Sorry I haven't posted in a while; I've been really busy since coming home.

On our way home from Montana, we stopped in Colorado for a friend's wedding. The wedding was held outside at the Garden of the Gods Country Club and the view was AMAZING!!! Afterwards, we took a few quick shots.

I love the mountains behind us!!! If this is only a shadow of God's beauty, how can we help but praise Him for eternity? :-)

Mrs. Sears, Camile, Christen Grunden, and I... the wedding we went to was for Christen's brother, Hunter.

Camile and I got lost on Big Mountain... but we found this quaint little stream...

We found this bridge so we climbed up a little snowy hill to get to it so we could take pictures on it. People passing probably thought we were crazy tourists... haha... I wonder why?

I love it in the mountains... it's still hard to believe that people actually live here!!! haha... Camile and I were talking about that. It's just so beautiful to see all the homes spread along the rolling hills!

Well, Camile's extended family just showed up at her Grandpa's house for dinner so I need to go. Camile and I are planning on running a trail tomorrow so stay tuned for some more pictures!

Night!

Today, as we drove from New Mexico into Colorado and then up into Wyoming, I saw some of the most beautiful mountains I have ever seen! As I observed them and began to think about how God formed each and every mountain and how each one is different and unique, my heart was moved to praise Him! What an awe-inspiring God we serve!!!

Check out the snow!!! Can you see how high the snow is next to our road? Look how it is piled up!!!

Here are the Great Teton Mountains... the hotel we are staying in at Jackson Hole is in the valley of these mountains.

A street in Jackson Hole. After we arrived we freshened up and then hit the streets of this cute little town. It felt so good to just be out of the car and walking!

We ended our day with dinner at a little Italian restaurant called Nani's. The service and food were excellent!!!

Oh, and did I mention that the weather today went from somewhere in the 50's down to 28 degrees in the mountains and then back up again into the 30's, 40's, and 50's, depending on where we were? Yeah... it has been COLD today!!! Yikes!!!

Well, I'm off to bed. We're on to Yellowstone tomorrow, Lord willing if it's not closed due to more snow, then we'll drive into Montana.

Yesterday, Camile, Mrs. Sears and I left Weatherford about 12:30 and headed into New Mexico, where we stayed the night. On our way down we stopped at the Big Texan for dinner. This restaurant is known for their "steak eating" contest. If you can eat a 72 oz. steak, plus all the sides (one loaded baked potato, 3 fried shrimp, and a salad) in exactly one hour, you get the entire meal for free. However, most people can't do it. Here are some pictures:

Camile and I split a yummy chicken fried steak... it was SO good!!! And yes... we look tired... haha!!!

This brave guy took the challenge to eat the 72 oz. steak. When someone does this, they sit at their own table at the front of the room where everyone can see. People get up from their tables and go talk to the person while they're eating... it's quite amuzing! When we walked by, he had only about 23 minutes left to go and as you can tell... he probably wasn't going to make it. When we talked to him he seemed pretty tired of eating!!!
